Cascade Climbs

Bryant Peak / 5840 ft

Climbers: Dennis, Jose
Route: Hemlock Pass – Southwest Ridge
Route Description: Denny Creek Trail to Hemlock Pass. We left Hemlock Pass trail 150-250′ beyond the Pass. Angling up a talus (boulder field) slopes until we gained the ridge proper. Following the ridge via a faint climbers trail we reached open meadows. Then reaching a small depression. We then bushwhacked straight up steep over grown slopes though a series of cliff bands (all which could be avoided with a little route finding skills). Then climbed up heather and talus field slopes gaining the ridge proper. Stayed slightly right of the ridge until we reached the final scramble to the summit (Class 3 minus at best). Great views. We descended the same route with the exception of avoiding the bushwhack slopes opting for a dried out creek bed staying right of the creek at times until reaching the open meadows.
Weather: Clear and Sunny
